Our Commitment

At Otsuka, our number one priority is creating innovative products to optimize the health and well-being of our customers. Headquartered in Japan, our products have a worldwide presence.

We are committed to using our global resources to help the biggest and smallest of communities. We strive to improve the lives of those in need. We have participated in local community functions and worked with well-known charitable organizations.

We also take great pride in putting our patients first. For example, the ASSURE Program service offerings are designed to anticipate and address the support needs of qualified patients. From the moment a patient is enrolled, our dedicated team is available to offer tools, resources, and personalized assistance to help ensure access to prescribed treatment.

Our culture of “Jissho” (actualization), “Sozosei” (creativity), thinking differently, perseverance, and diversity is what separates us from the pack. For a global company, we like to take big risks. Risk is what leads to innovation. Across our pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and consumer businesses, our mission is clear: Otsuka people create new products for better health worldwide.

As a total healthcare company, Otsuka Pharmaceutical will continue to focus on unfulfilled needs of patients and consumers on a global scale, creating creative, innovative products and new market categories in our efforts to contribute to the health and well-being of people everywhere.

We thank you for your continued support and encouragement.

Thinking differently has been a core of Otsuka since the company’s beginning nearly a century ago, when Busaburo Otsuka broke his family’s farming tradition to form his own company (Otsuka Seiyaku Kogyo-bu). Since starting with just 10 employees in 1921, Otsuka has expanded to nearly 45,000 employees around the world, with 174 factories and 46 research institutes. Currently, we operate 180 companies across 28 countries and regions. We have expanded our research, development and manufacturing facilities in order to develop products in-house and bring them to market. We have created products that have been influential in the treatment of central nervous system disorders, cardiovascular and digestive diseases, cancer, respiratory and dermatology conditions, as well as providing a range of clinical, nutritional, and diagnostic products.

We pride ourselves in not imitating others, proactively and tenaciously taking on difficult challenges, while maintaining rigorous, evidence-based approaches. By doing so, we can continue to effectively contribute to better health worldwide. Tapping the power of creativity, we tackle themes that nobody else has taken on.
